new old photos

I've scanned and uploaded photos I took for an Introduction to Photography class during my senior year of college. There's also an 8-part series of Nick's messy dorm room (so messy that mushrooms start growing), but I haven't gotten around to editing them yet.

College B&W Class

I've also updated the Spring Flowers page to include shots from a recent trip to Kingwood Gardens in Mansfield with Becki.

I have some really nice ones to add to the Autumn Scenes page from last October, but haven't made them web-ready just yet. With the weather lately, I haven't been in the mood to work on fall images.

And I swear I'll get that graphic design page updated one of these days (I've taken it down for the time being).

Thanks for posting the BG pics! East Hall was my second home, and I loved that stairwell. :0)

Also, I think the Seth pic is pretty funny, since that was the year I was dating him. The idea of him punching someone...HA! [He's engaged to a very lovely young lady, but I haven't talked to him in a while.]

I almost asphyxiated in that stairwell freshman year.

One bright sunny day, I was rushing to finish up a rough draft of an English paper that I had to go over with the prof in person that morning. At the time, I didn't know how to print over the network to the computer lab, so I used my roommate's ghetto inkjet, which was out of black ink, so I had to print in dark purple -- thus taking three times as long to print. The minutes ticked on as I anxiously awaited for the last page.

I dashed over to East Hall on my equally ghetto bike, and not being familiar with the building, I didn't know where the elevator was, so I just took the stairs (either that, or I thought the stairs would be faster).

I leapt up three flights of stairs. By the middle of the second flight, I was pretty much out of breath, not only because of the furious bike ride, but because the plastic/rubber flooring has a very strong odor. The poor ventilation of the stairwell, coupled with the greenhouse effect of the plentiful windows, made for a lightheaded ascension.

I gripped the handrail and proclaimed, "MUST... TURN IN... ENGLISH PAPER... BY 9 A.M.!!" At last, I reached the third floor, whereupon the conveniently-placed emergency intercom button next to the door mocked me.

After the meeting, I took the elevator down. It had the same plastic/rubber flooring, and was equally poorly ventilated. I can still taste it just thinking about it.

Nonetheless, the stairs have cool shadows.
